BURNT OF SNOW The International Performance Art Festival in Inner Mongolia
The letter by The festival curator Cai Qing:
Welcome to the Inner Mongolia grassland! This was the homeland of Genghis Khan. There are cattle, sheep and endless grasslands, as well as boundless deserts and snow. It is from here that the iron ride crossed the Great Wall and entered China. This is the portal from where Genghis Khan raised to the power and expanded into Europe and Asia, and subsequently contested the entire world. The glory of the past is still well-known globally. Today, this legendary desert invites the arrival of outstanding artists from all over the world. Let us bring together different wisdoms and styles, and show your magical powers in this magical land. Create a brilliant future!
The smoke rose straight up in desert, the long river falls into the sun ...... This art festival focuses on land art and live art. The boundless extension of grassland will bring you a lot of thoughts, and make a difference. At the same time, under the vigorous development of modern society, artists have to consider how to highlight the unique scenery and emphasize the open interaction. I believe that through communication and interaction between artists, and local residents, you will be inspired and have a lot of creative ideas. I believe that artists will sing the essence of the desert here, and will definitely show a new height in artistic creation! Looking forward to the ancient times, step into meditation, and absorb the vast deposits here, the experience will result in profound artistic creation! The scope of our event will include activities in grasslands, desert filled with ice and snow. The rich nature will provide us with a continuous stream of creative inspiration, and will also give birth to more diverse works of art. Our organizers are responsible for local receptions during the event of all participating artists, arranging accommodation and food, as well as the transportation to local activities. Without any government financial support, the organizers have limited funding that is sufficient to cover the costs for local activities. Artists have to cover their own travel expanses to and from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. Your participation is the most powerful support for this art project, and I sincerely invite you to participate in the 7th [Burnt Snow] performance art season! Activity area: Hohhot - Ulanchab, Siziwang Banne Exhibition time: December 30, 2019 - January 5, 2020 Curator Cai Qing 1 Sep, 2019
